CONSTANTINOS CHARALAMBOUS

Born in Nicosia - Cyprus 1952.
In 2012 he retired as Senior Electrical Technician, from Nicosia Municipality where he had worked for 42 years. From a young age he has showed interest and worked intensely with the art of photography. He attended courses and seminars on photography and in 1984 became an active member of the Cyprus Photographic Society (CPS). He has been Secretary General of CPS - Nicosia Branch for 3 years (1998 -2001), and was then elected President for two terms (2001-2005 and 2007 - 2013). His presidency has proven to be so successful and fruitful that in May 2013 he was elected President of the Central Directory Board of the Cyprus Photographic Society.
Part of his work was presented in thirteen personal exhibitions, one of which in Ukraine in 2009 and another four in China in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2022. He has participated in many group exhibitions and many of his photographs have been distinguished in both Cyprus and abroad. He has presented more than 30 thematic photographic slideshows in Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, Sicily, Argentina, China, Prague, Crete, Minsk, St. Petersburg, Florence and Avinion. He was a jury member in various local photo contests, as well as international once such as the National Greek Competition 2019 and eight International Photo Competitions (Greece, Ukraine, France, China, Poland) and the ICS World Cup 2019. He represented Cyprus in international photography congresses, conferences and photographic meetings. He has held the title AFIAP of The International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) since 1995 and in 2015 he was awarded with the title EFIAP. In 2017 he was awarded with the EFIAP/bronze distinction and the honorary title ESFIAP for the services rendered to the International Photography. In 2019 he was awarded with the title EFIAP/silver and in 2020 with EFIAP/gold. Finally, in 2022 he is awarded with the higher distinction the EFIAP/platinum. He was also awarded the title EHPS and the Grand Award “Apollo” from the Hellenic Photographic Society. He holds the honorary titles Hon FICS from the Image Colleague Society, Hon FPI from the PERSONA International India, and Hon PESGSPC from the Pascal English School Photographic Club. In May 2015 he was elected as the FIAP Liaison Officer in Cyprus.
